Trevenant

Trevenant only hunt at night. They attract prey by hanging out their tongues which glow bright red in the darkness while the rest of their body is completely camouflaged. To the unaware it may look like a single glowing red eye. Trevenant however do not actually have any eyes. They "see" by feeling vibrations in the air with the leaf-like hair on their arms and head.

Phantump are a carrion bird that have a symbiotic relationship with the Trevenant. Using the bright and reflective markings on their chests the lead unsuspecting small predators by fluttering on the ground to a waiting Trevenant. They feast on whatever the is left over. Phantump are usually thought of as Will-o-the-wisps for this very reason.
